Wiscon?

Ok, so I really really want to go to Wiscon, and since it's only 3 hours away I think I will be able to, but probably only for one night.  (Charlie will stay home with Mike while I get my fun on).

I would arrive at 9 in the morning (ish) and leave probably around lunchtime the next day.  I want to meet a bunch of people, particularly the verb_noire folks, and to hang out with the friends I made at 4th street.  I don't care too much about programming--I mean, yeah, programming is cool, and I will attend and enjoy greatly, but I'd rather go to a good meet-up than hear a good panel rignt now.  I also like buying things, like a proper magpie.

So, which day & night should I go for? Saturday would be simplest but I could do Friday or Sunday instead if there's a good reason to.

I hope to see you there! Oh, and just since you're planning to buy things, there's a good chance my first novel will be at the Broad Universe table by then. (wink) I'd say Saturday or Friday are good days to go, though Saturday I think is when the most of the one dayers go.

How fabulous! Back when I was on college concoms, we sold the most one-day passes on Saturdays. OTOH, Sunday mornings are pretty much dead, so if you're looking to socialize on your second day...I dunno. It's not like WisCon and its participants could ever be boring--you really can't lose, no matter when you go. *sighing jealously*

I'm there for the duration. On previous years I think the LJ party has been Sunday night, if that makes any odds.

The Gathering is Friday afternoon, and the World's Best Farmer's Market is Saturday morning. If you come for Saturday night, you can go to the dessert salon. The LJ party and costume ball are usually on Sunday night. There is good socializing pretty much the whole time.

Wiscon sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I always have something else going on that weekend, though. Wish you were coming back to 4th St!

tiptree auction is saturday night, which is oodles of fun. guest of honor speeches and award ceremonies are sunday night.

wiscon does not do daypasses, fyi; you have to buy a full membership. on the other hand, this makes it easier for you to stay the whole weekend when you find out how much fun it is.
