5 AM seems to be the right time to get up in order to get a shower, get Charlie ready for day care (diaper/feed/clothe), drop him off, and still arrive at work at a reasonable time (8 or 8:30).

*SIGH*

My sympathies. This is what I'm working my way up to. 5 AM. I have successfully managed 5:45! That is good enough for just getting ready and cooking Puppy a real breakfast, but not enough for me to exercise. I'd like to shove exercise into the morning if I can get away with it, but I think I'll need a few more weeks of regular exercise, and the resulting energy, before I'm up to it.

I've determined that I need to be monitoring Puppy's calories. He's not eating enough. Who knew I'd have to worry about that at 14??? He was all amazed that he took an Odwalla B Monster to school yesterday and felt SO GREAT all day. (!!!) So I bought him one for each day (too expensive!!!) and also made him a real breakfast today, with protein and fat and stuff.

PRHM, I found that one of my teenagers preferred leftover quiche to any breakfast I could fix her. Quiche is easy, and it keeps well in the fridge. It's good cold but can be reheated in the microwave. It's also got lots of protein and some fat (adjustable via amount/type of cheese) and you can put whatever vegetables your kid likes in it (one of mine likes sundried tomatoes and the other likes fennel).

Ooooh. I will have to try that. I wonder if he would like it? He won't eat any eggs but omelet eggs and fears "real" cheese (which, in true Buffy fan fashion, he calls "skeezy").

But he might like quiche. I think we will give it a shot on a Saturday or Sunday to see what he thinks. thanks!

I'm trying to remember what I ate for breakfast as a teenager, but I'm not a good test case, since "not eating enough" isn't really something I have experienced.

Instant oatmeal makes a good quick breakfast, if he's willing to eat it. Leftover quiche sounds awesome though.

Oh, my sympathies! Anything before 6AM feels desperately early to me. But I work evenings, which might be part of that.

Good luck and tasty morning beverages?

I worked a 6 am shift for a year and a half, but that was in the last century and my commute was shorter. Ugh.

My sympathies (not really, I was up at quarter to five).

I could do that without pain when I was younger...not any more.
