I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. Oh please oh please be allergies! We're going out of town Thursday come heck or high water, and I will feel like UTTER CRUD if I have to take a 10-hour road trip when I'm sick.

Charlie had a sniffly nose for a couple of days, but he has a GREAT immune system so has shaken it off. My immune system totally sucks, so I am screwed, screwed, screwed.

Got a Whole Foods nearby? Willing to spend ~$20 on a gamble?

Go get "Oscillococcinum" and "Coldcalm" by Boiron. Sometimes they can head off a flu or cold if taken at the very first hints.

Other possible strategies: elderberry syrup, which fights off viruses in the throat. Some good studies from Israel about that one.

Hope you feel better and it's just allergies!

ColdEase (zinc tablets) can work very well, too. But they taste terrible. (I find the cherry flavor marginally less objectionable than the others. YMMV)

Zicam helps. AlkaSeltzer cold medicine helps. Having a child's immune system would be wonderful.
