Charlie is learning new words at a pretty good pace, now that he's kind of figured out what words are for. Some of his vocab comes from day care--either the teachers or his friends, I guess--so it's always kind of a hoot when he trots out something new that didn't come from us. Today's surprise word is "help."
Me: Ok, here's a choo-choo video*
Charlie: Noooo!
Me: You don't like this one today? Ok, let's pick a different one. (start scrolling through other videos)
Charlie: Nooo, nooo, choo choo!
Me: I'm going as fast as I can, hang on, I'm going to put on a choo-choo, promise!
Charlie (yelling to Mike, in the other room): HELP! HELP!
*Go to youtube, search for "railfan," and be boggled by the number of choo-choo videos. Charlie gets 3 a night. He gets to veto a couple of choices since he generally has a specific one in mind that he wants to start with, and can't say which one it is. So we spend some time guessing.
