Talky Talky
Aug. 24th, 2010 09:40 pmCharlie is starting to be more verbal (finally!) , and so is moving into the stage of saying unintentionally cute things.
1. we watch train videos with Charlie before bedtime. While I'm dressing him for bed he usually says "choo choo" over and over in case I forget that we're going to watch choo choos. The other night when I was putting on his diaper he changed his wording a bit.
Charlie: pee pee!
Me: pee pee? New word, huh? Yes, we're changing your diaper, pee pee.
Charlie: pee pee!
Me: uh...do you want to try sitting on the potty?
Charlie: (shakes head and points toward living room): PEE PEE!
Me: Do you mean Tee Vee?
Charlie: (big grin) yeah, yeah, Tee Vee! Tee Vee! Tee Pee! Pee Pee!
2. going for a drive, we went for a while next to a railroad track that did not have a train on it, much to Charlie's disappointment.
Charlie: choo choo?
Me: Yeah, that's right! That's the train track, but there's no choo choo right now.
Charlie: choo choo?
Me: sorry, sweetie, trains mostly don't run here on the weekend. No choo choo.
Charlie: CHOO CHOO!
Me: Sorry sweetie, no choo choo!
Charlie: (quiet for a moment)
Charlie: TRAIN! train!
Me: Very good! Train is the other word for choo choo. But there still isn't one here, sorry!
Charlie: (slower and clearer) Trraaiiinn?
