Dang. I had the biggest crush on Kwai Chang Chaine when I was in college. I became a vegetarian. I read the Tao te Ching and every other taoist text I could find - and never, ever missed watching his show.

Yeah, I would watch with my brothers pretty much religiously--his show is what first got me interested in China. There was a certain amount of meta-textual commentary, watching with much-older siblings...they were good at predicting what he was going to say. But that just made it cooler, because it was so consistent.
