My brain is pudding right now, so all I can manage is "wow, you sound interesting" with a side of "are any of your drawings online?" and "how old is your baby?" which I had meant to ask anyhow.

:) thanks! "weird" is the other word people say instead of "interesting." I have a bunch of art in my LJ scrapbook/gallery. And my son is 7 months old - oh, I have to go give him a bath now, I'll link up his photogallery later!

It took me *way* too long, but I've finally gotten to thoroughly admire your adorable son. How is it that every baby is adorable, and they all have different smiles?

I know! And I want ALL the babies! Having one (or being given one) is supposed to make baby fever go away, but it hasn't for me...well, not entirely, anyway.

Should we play a guessing game about which are true and which aren't?

Of course :) I will do my best to provide evidence...truthful or otherwise!

I choose to believe and commend you for #10. And can say the same. Well, vim. One of the things I miss most after my migration to Outlook (work made me do it!) and gmail is the ability to seamlessly compose email in vi.

Wow, you are hardcore! I don't use vi for email, but since my job at times babysitting and tweaking unix-based autosys jobs, I do use vi. I don't like vim because it's always trying to be helpful, which annoys me :)

I understand that. Helpful programs seldom are. Flipping through my rc file for vim, the following settings may be helpful if you get stuck needing it at some point:

" make messages very short
set shortmess =aIWto
" I know when I'm in insert dammit
set noshowmode
" shut up about files not being saved. I know.
set nowarn

And there's always
set compatible

to make it be as much like vi as possible.

Sorry, I'm acting like a helpful program. Just call me clippy.

I find "unalias vi" works well for me :P but thanks for the tips! Also just not using linux and sticking with solaris whenever possible is part of my philosophy. Although I do see the advantages of linux for web servers and stuff, so I'm kinda stuck.

I'm stuck on Windows. :-(

Ooo, that's a drag. I like windows for most things but unix is more fun to admin.
