Home at last, feeling mostly better.
Jan. 9th, 2009 04:46 pmWe are home from the hospital - Charlie's breathing pretty well, and has been diagnosed with Atopic dermatitis (eczema) and Reactive Airway disease (what they call athsma-type illness in a baby too young to be diagnosed with athsma). He does not have to be on maintenance meds for the athsma-thing just yet, though--it may just flare up when he has a cold. We'll get the results of his allergy bloodwork in a couple of days, although in a baby this young it's often not accurate. We have 8 prescriptions getting filled right now, for various creams and drugs and stuff, and we are all going to take a nap now. (Mike and I both have colds ourselves, ugh) Thank you all so much for the good wishes.

Date: 2009-01-10 04:20 am (UTC)However, sleeping in my own bed instead of on a cot in the hospital is verrry nice, even though I'll be getting up a lot to dose the little guy.
I am totally impressed by anyone who does this with more than one child or with fewer than two parents! (I grew up with 6 siblings and 3 parents, but since I'm the youngest the oldest sibs were like additional parents) Mike and I were really lucky to be able to tag-team on stuff with just one kid between the two of us.
