I'm really DONE with this chest/head/viral/bacterial thing. I had it in October, I took an antibiotic that started with an L, it sort of went away long enough for me to have an unusually long bout of horrible cramps, then I was feeling ok again, then on Friday I got what I thought was a cold, and by Monday I was in total sinusitis hell and had lost my voice. Went to doctor, got the better antibiotic that starts with a Z, plus a shot in the ass of an antibiotic starting with a C, because my throat looked bad. So I'm now totally out of paid leave at work (and taking unpaid leave is Frowned Upon), in fact I'm a day over, and I'm at work now despite feeling crappy, being on pseudophedrine every 4 hours and therefore having not much sleep, and I still have no voice so I'm having to beg off of meetings that I'm supposed to be in. At least this time, unlike October, Charlie and Mike aren't sick, but Mike was oncall last night and had to work pretty much all night, which meant I had to get up early with Charlie--usually whoever's sick gets to hand off the baby duty, but work trumps sick, in our house anyway.

Wah, wah, wah.

What makes it extra-annoying is that these flareups coincide with various big angsty life things that are going on, so I know if I just had my shit a little more together, I probably would be able to keep my immune system from going offline like this. Feh.
