We all three have coughs, and we all three are exhausted, but it looks like we've collectively turned a corner. From what we can tell, we all started off with some kind of flulike virus, and then Charlie got a bronchial infection on top of that, and then, because of not resting and hanging out in germ central (aka the pediatric emergency room) for a couple of days, Mike and I got it too. Charlie saw his doc yesterday and she gave him an antibiotic, cortisone cream for his skin, and he's also still on the steroid they prescribed at the hospital. I was holding steady but Mike was getting worse, so he went to our grown-up doc, who gave him a steroid shot to help clear *his* lungs, and prescribed an antibiotic. The doc asked how I was doing (I was home with Charlie) and Mike said I was coughing too, so the doc doubled the prescription and said to give me half of the pills.

One of the advantages of having had complete physicals for our adoption paperwork is that our doctor is familiar with the state of our health, and so will prescribe over the phone and stuff, or, as in the above case, based on word of mouth. LOVE that.

Anyway we're all lying around the living room today, and tracking what we're giving Charlie on a whiteboard labeled "A Boy and His Drugs."

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement and kind wishes. These last couple of days have been really hard, and it helped a lot.
