Jeez do I have a crappy roster of choices for this year's election.  I held my nose and voted for Dan Fucking Lipinski, a so-called democrat who voted against the Health Care bill and votes pro-life on all kinds of shitty bills, because I don't want to help the Republicans to take the house.  Although I wouldn't be surprised if the fucker ends up siding with the right in all the major votes anyway, grrrr.  And I voted to retain our governer even though the state budget situation is ridiculous--because the Republican candidate would cut education and screw over poor people even worse than the current administration.  I like Lisa Madigan, but she's just running for Attorney General instead of senator or governor.  Too bad because I'd like to see her as governor.

I made myself feel better by voting green for all the strictly local stuff like water reclamation district and county commish.  JEEZ, Illinois Democratic Party! Try harder!

Oh, is that where all the Greens went? I got almost none as options out in the suburbs. So Democratic ticket straight down. I even voted to keep Jesse White, because I'm pretty sure a Republican or Libertarian would screw that up even worse.

I'm in Cook county so I think I may get a wider set of choices, despite also being suburban. At least I don't have to vote in the upcoming Mayor-of-Chicago trainwreck.

I was listening to NPR on the radio while I drove to my polling place and they had people calling in talking about their votes from both sides (all sides?) and almost everyone who called in had voted AGAINST the other person more than FOR their person. This was as true for Democrats as for Republicans.

We have few good political choices this go-round.
