Facebook/ LJ linkage; other identity info

Since others are mentioning it, I'll mention that I don't link my FB and my LJ identities (other than by having the same name in both places) and I won't link yours by xposting anything, either.  I would prefer you not xpost comments on my LJ to FB, thanks.

Also for those who are linking, I use FB differently from LJ, so I only friend people there if I know them pretty well.  So don't be miffed if I have you friended here but not there.

While we're on the topic, I do have a few other online hangouts - I'm marydell at Librarything, canary3d at Renderosity and DAZ3d (3d graphics fora), Mary Dell at Making Light, marydell on Twitter, and marydell at Dreamwidth.  I don't xpost to any of those either but you're welcome to look me up.  Most likely the only one that will be of interest to anyone hereabouts is my Librarything library, because yay books!

The privacyfail totally sucks. FB is both evil and awesome--it's great for staying in touch with a far-flung group of people. I have a very large extended family and it's how we all communicate. I don't understand why no alternative with the same functionality has arisen yet.

Ah--I'm green_minds on Twitter, and have now followed you. I don't crosspost, as LJ is under the social/writing last name, and Twitter is under the psychology last name. And every time I think about getting a Facebook for professional reasons, they do something awful and I change my mind.
