marydell: My hand holding a medusa head sculpture (by me) that's missing its snakes (Default)

Getting Charlie to pose for his Christmas picture last year was easy - just lay him in the crib in his holiday onesie, tickle his feet, and snap pictures. This year getting him to stay in one place for any length of time has been nearly impossible! Also difficult: separating him from his pacifier, and getting him to interact with red and green props on cue (Yes, I am a cheeseball). But the results have been entertaining. The one formal-looking pose was achieved by spinning him in the spinny chair and quickly stopping it and snapping the picture. More than once. He was kind of dizzy by the time we were done, but I explained to him that we must suffer for art.

D'awww!

And is he usually a two-binky kind of dude?

He continues to be a seriously adorable baby.

That was the first time we'd seen him try two binkies at once, but when he's sleeping (with binky in mouth) he likes to hold a spare in his hand. And will fuss in his sleep if he loses either of them.

Kids' faces are so expressive, and Charlie's no exception. I too like the two-binky face, and lying down on Dad (even if he's not wearing red or green), and the question when he's grabbing the tree branch. What cute kid!

Aww. I like the ones with you guys and the one in the crib. Well, a couple of the Very Serious ones are lovely too.

Most of the Very Serious is his non-verbal way of saying "why is this door in my way? why can't I scoot down the hall? wha? another closed door? WHY?" --I kept corralling him so I could take pictures, and he Did Not Approve. Fortunately he enjoys his crib, despite otherwise liking to go go go.

I love the one of him and the Christmas tree. So much cute! (Both him and that adorable sweater he has on there.)

Thanks! Mike's mom told us to have the camera handy when we showed him the tree for the first time, and she was right...he was so fascinated.

I don't think they're what most people mean by Good Photos as much, but I like the way he's examining stuff carefully. "Okay...," says his little face, "now what's this? And what's it for? And is there any particular havoc I might wreak with it?"

Often followed by "OM NOM NOM I EATZ IT." Or yanking on it delightedly until it falls over, which I believe is his plan for the tree.

Awwww! I love the two-binky one, and the one in which he's pondering the toy Xmas tree.

Thanks! I almost made the two-binky one the official picture for the card, I love it so much, but it's too punk-rock for some of the srs ppl on my list.

Hee. Love them all!

I just ended up PSing and prettying up one of the pics I took of Cassie holding Q the day he came home. Now to manage addressing and stamps...

soooo cute!
I particularly like the ones where he's staring at the toys and then the tree.
