The magic of "put it away"

Ok so apparently when kids reach 2 years of age some Manchurian Candidate-like post-hypnotic suggestion kicks in and makes it so that when you say "can you put X away?" they have to drop whatever they're doing and go put that thing away because YAY PUTTING AWAY LOOK MOMMY I PUT IT AWAY.

I must only use this power for good.

Enjoy it while it lasts! It might go on longer for you, but after a while, M realized he didn't have to. We're still working through that.

If he's got that bug, he may also get the 'help clean' bug. If that happens, you may have to resign yourself to having a helper with all your chores; along with that, if you're like me, you'll get lots of practice at practicing detachment... it is ok that the counter didn't get wiped properly, he was really happy to help.

Enthusiastic cleaning helpers! Very enthusiastic! Not very accurate! Very enthusiastic!

(once he's a bit older, he may try to clean up messes without involving you. this would be how the hall had poop smeared thinly down it's length. he tried, bless him, he tried.)

Charlie loves to help with the dishes. This results in water poured on the counter and floor and a lot of ambiguous (clean?/dirty?) dishes in the drainer. Fortunately it's very cute.

Poop on the walls is something I will not find cute, but I suppose at least one incident is inevitable...
