I was briefly interested in the new Dyson fan--until I saw the price, that is--because a bladeless fan could be a good thing in a house with a toddler.  But have you seen the way they're advertising it?  "Conventional fans chop the air, causing unpleasant buffeting."  OH GODS SAVE ME FROM CHOPPED AIR!  Next I hope Dyson will design a way to finally get that dreadful pea out from under my 17 featherbeds.

oh no! not air buffetin! eep!

it's almost like...a breeze...and we can't have that, now can we?

If I wanted my family exposed to such hazards, I'd let them go outside.

as we all know, the continual unpleasant buffeting one gets from chopped air can cause all sort of terrible ailments. like "single hair strand displacement."

Do you know about the mistaken belief the South Korean media has in "fan death"? Dyson is probably selling these things like hotcakes over there.

*googles*

That is... (http://www.snopes.com/medical/freakish/fandeath.asp)a very strange belief. Interestingly, here in the US docs are starting to recommend running a fan in infants' rooms as a SIDS preventative (to keep Co2 from building up around the baby's head while they sleep).
