marydell: My hand holding a medusa head sculpture (by me) that's missing its snakes (Default)

My Ipod is hiding somewhere, so I've been listening to CDs in the car this week, which means in most cases listening to older stuff. This morning I decided to give some old Billy Joel a whirl, and had Glass Houses in the player.

The song You May Be Right, I May Be Crazy features the following "crazy" behavior:

- Crashing a party
- Walking through Bedford-Stuy alone
- Riding a motorcycle in the rain
- Telling dirty jokes

That's the entirety of his "lunacy." Ah, the good old days.

And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive

The entirety of his lunacy seems to be alcohol-related.

I assumed that was merely another instance of motorcycling in the rain :)

But yeah, it seems likely that really he's a drunk, which is less sexy than a lunatic. Also, I still don't understand why she's sitting in an electric chair.

The next song on the album is about phone sex, so it's a big ol' rocker all around.

Hitting on a woman in an electric chair. Definitely nuts.

Hm, it just occurred to me, maybe it's an electric-powered wheelchair! Then it's perfectly sensible.

His real-life lunacy was running his cars into trees, as I recall...
