marydellIf you don't like the latest LJ stupidities, please log a support request or write to the powers that be--that did have an effect when they did that stupid gender-selection thing a while ago. Even if it doesn't help, they should spend the day reading about how this feature sucks, just like we're all reading about it on our flists. Here's the one I wrote:

Dear LJ,
Most people on my flist don't use their real names on LJ but they do on Facebook. The linking of commenting between the two services is a serious problem, that is very likely to send more of my flist over to Dreamwidth or other services in order to protect their identities. This change has made it very easy for people to accidentally or thoughtlessly publish comments from flocked posts, or posts by people not using their real names, over to FB. That in turn will make it easy for FB users to follow back to LJs they are curious about, and find people who do not want to be found.
Facebook is well known for having NO respect for privacy and no accountability to their own user community. I'm deeply concerned that Livejournal is making changes that damage privacy (including the flock-breaking feature of pingback), at the same time as becoming closely linked with Facebook. These changes are bad for many members of your community and I doubt that the benefit they provide to some of your users can justify the anxiety and potential life problems they will create for others.
