marydell: My hand holding a medusa head sculpture (by me) that's missing its snakes (charlie-animals)

Charlie is nearly 2, and is starting to look like a little boy instead of a baby. I am not a fan of this rapid growing up thing! Too fast! Although I am enjoying his developing personality a lot.

Demonstrating his fine motor skills and working on his escape skills

Saying good-bye to a favorite toy. He outgrew this one a while ago (weight limit: 25 pounds. Charlie's weight: 34 pounds) but we let him have one last go at it before giving it away.

Staying hydrated in 95-degree heat. Also, covered in white barrier sunscreen, which is why his face looks all chalky.

Hanging out in Daddy's chair. Pretty soon the chair will fit him!

Is anything more fun than a damp washcloth?

IMG_6133
Anything at all?

IMG_6147
NO! OMG WASHCLOTH, SO FUN YAAY

IMG_6121
This is a counter-height high chair. Tall baby is tall.

IMG_6108
Meet the new arm, same as the old arm (almost...no elbow joint this time)

IMG_6111
Walky walky! (Note washcloth in hand; YAY WASHCLOTH)

Checking out the new bed. Currently just for playing; crib is for sleeping. He thinks we're morons for not understanding that, and since we're not in a rush to de-cage him, it's all good. Room is a little crowded, of course.

Petting a hamster at the zoo. This one I love mainly for Mike's expression.

Bubbles! BUB BUB BUB BUL!!!

Thanks for looking!

New unemployment goal: finish that damn blankie.

He does love him some blankie, but don't feel you have to--you've got enough on your plate.

It turns out that I've got nothing but time. Plus if I do have to move, it'd be nice to have already gotten the yarn out of the house. :-)

Tall person is tall!

I love the photo of him in the chair, especially the Sunday-afternoon football-watching expression.

And the Washcloth Series is inspired.

Aw, how cute--especially the picture of him flopped out in the Daddy chair. And that bed is excellent.

Adorable pictures. It occurs to me that the only other time I see pictures of a person without four limbs is in the diabetes ad on TV where she's saying what a terrible tragedy it is that she lost her leg, and it's nice see pictures of happy Charlie to counter that.

He really does look very small-boyish rather than babyish. And the picture of him and his dad is so utterly cute I made an involuntary flurglsqueak.

Please make sure he can't. We had a tragedy here a few years ago featuring a two-year-old escape artist.

Very, very cute pictures! The washcloth sequence is particularly wonderful.

He can't turn ordinary doorknobs yet (although he's figured out my arthritis-friendly interior door lever-style ones), but we'll be putting thwarting devices on just in case.

Great pictures! :)

Thats hilarious that he loved his exersaucer for so long! I WISH Gavin did. It was great while it lasted for keeping him in one place!

The wash cloth pics are my favourite!!!

And his prosthetic arm is super cool! I love the print! How does he like it?
