Thanks to a half-price sale at the mattress store, my baby is going to have a much nicer mattress-and-boxspring-on-the-floor than Mommy and Daddy do, albeit a smaller one (standard twin size. It's being delivered on Friday, and I've spent a bunch of time today playing mental Tetris with the furniture in his room, figuring out where the thing is going to go.

I have sadface over how fast he is growing up...he's still a toddler in his personality and development, of course, but he looks and feels like a big boy and it is TOO SOON.

He is so cute! And yeah--big boy! I keep being surprised by how old he isn't.

I think he's probably reached the age that when he is all grown up (in many, many years, don't worry) you will be able to look back at this year's photos and see that he is clearly the same person.

I find it really cool when kids hit the age that you start to see "person" and not "baby" in their faces. Not sure if I'm saying that intelligibly. :)

Makes perfect sense to me! He's clearly "boy" and not "baby" now. (A coworker's son is now five, and she still refers to him as "the baby." It makes me flinch every time.)
Bed on the floor, not on one of those metal frames? I guess it's easier to get into/less far to fall.
BIG boy! But still a cutie!

It happens so fast! (Hard as it is to believe on those days that seem like they will never end ...)

I love looking at kids through the years like this. It's so amazing how quickly they form! Looking between the 6.5-year-old and the 20-month-old is boggling, every time I do it.

Charlie's just adorable, but of course you knew that. :D
