At least one member of my little family has been ill since halfway through Christmas day. It's like a baton we're passing around. Right now, it's my turn--I actually was fine, but taking care of my sick son and husband as well as dealing with a blizzard pretty much knocked me on my ass. I'm better than I was last week, though, and I'm hoping that the giant antibiotics I'm taking will have me back at 100% of my usual capacity in a week or so. In the meantime, I'm clutching my albuterol to my bosom like it's my dearest friend, and filling out FMLA paperwork because I'm out of sick/vacation/personal time at work until April when our new fiscal year starts. (FMLA leave allows me* to take an unpaid day off for respiratory illness as needed, without the risk of losing my job. My company is nice about that stuff anyway, but it's just as well to do the paperwork and make sure I'm in the clear). Almost all of my vacation time this year has been used for illness or health maintenance for myself or Charlie...which is okay, but I kinda wish I had thought to get allergy tested at the beginning of the fiscal year instead of towards the end, and saved myself a long respiratory illness or two.

On the plus side, I, uh...hm. Well, I'm sure there's a plus that will present itself once I feel better.

*if you work at a medium-to-large employer, chances are you are also covered by FMLA.

On the plus side, you're covered by FMLA and people are hopefully getting better?

*hopes*

True! And today I do feel mostly better, aside from having a voice "like a dude" as my coworkers helpfully explained.

And now it's FRIDAY woo!
